We are having a Committee meeting tomorrow night, Wednesday 23rd May. If anyone has any rule changes/amendments or proposals, could you let me know by E-Mail or phone so that they can be discussed at the meeting. I will send out any proposals to all teams immediately after the Committee meeting so that you all have time to think about the potential changes before the AGM. I will also post them here, so watch out.

GET SHOT OF BOXING TOUT SUITE, AT LEAST DOWNGRADE IT DAVE L Well for what it's worth I agree with you, Dave - don't have any problem with having Boxing questions occasionally, but think they should be kept under the 'General Sport' banner. What does everyone else think?

Anyone who has any further Rule Changes/Amendments or Proposals MUST let me know by May 31st at the latest. It will not be possible to bring up any Proposals on the night of the AGM on June 8th at the Key Club. Also any team wishing to submit nominations for Committee Officers or Members again Must do so by May 31st.
The following proposals have been made.
Byker PTE would like to propose a change in the format of the Challenge Cup.
They propose the following:-
The Challenge Cup will be held on a Regional basis, with four Regional groupings, two based North of the Tyne and two South of the Tyne.
This would mean two groupings of 5 teams and two of 4. The two groups which have 5 teams in would require a qualifying game to be held.
The winner of each Region would go forward to the Semi Final.
If that new regional format is accepted by the League, then the following second proposal could go forward (obviously if it fails then no need for this to go forward):-
The winner of each groupings to be decided by playing off Regional semi-final and Finals on one night at the same venue.
The winners of each Region to go forward to the League Semi Final stage. Again the semi final and final stage will be held at one venue, this venue to be changed every year and hosted around each of the Regions.
League Structure
There are two possible League structures for next season
The current structure of two Leagues each containing nine teams with teams playing each other once only.
A structure of three Leagues each containing six teams with teams playing each other home and away.
The Committee would like to propose changing the format of the Knock Out Cup. Instead of having KO Cup qualyfying rounds on the individual league nights, the Cup would be a one off competition with all 18 teams competing on one night, probably Finals night.

Proposal by Byker PTE
We would like to propose a change in the format of the Challenge Cup.
We propose the following:-
The Challenge Cup will be held on a Regional basis, with four Regional groupings, two based North of the Tyne and two South of the Tyne.
This would mean two groupings of 5 teams and two of 4. The two groups which have 5 teams in would require a qualifying game to be held. This would be the current Challenge Cup 1st Round
The winner of each grouping to be decided by playing off Regional semi-final and Finals on one night at the same venue. This would replace the current Challenge Cup Round 2 and Quarter Finals nights.
The winners of each Region to go forward to the League Semi Final stage. Again the semi final and final stage will be held at one venue, this venue to be changed every year and hosted around each of the Regions.
Advantages of this proposal (as we see it).
Less travelling.
Less fixture nights in an already crowded schedule.
Local rivalries make for more interesting games.
Proposal by The Committee
Change the format of the KO Cup. Instead of having divisional night qualifying for the KO Cup, The KO Cup to be decided by a one off quiz on Finals night with all 18 teams taking part. Divisional nights would consist only of Pairs and Singles Competitions
